The Event

Collectively, more than $6.1 million has been raised through 57 different 100 Men Who Cook events across multiple Old National regions to benefit local organizations.

What makes the event so special? Imagine 100 of Muncie’s most notable community leaders (bankers, attorneys, physicians, educators, and business leaders from every endeavor, or anyone who is well known to the public) retreating into their respective kitchens to concoct their favorite dish. After a careful and loving preparation, the chef creatively decorates their serving station, dons their favorite costume in an effort to entice the crowd of friends, family, and fellow community members to take a nibble of their specialty cuisine. The prizes: Five Chef’s Choice Awards, Three Tip Chef Awards, one Top Chef Award, and bragging rights for the next year!

Chef’s Choice Awards are presented to the chefs receiving the most votes in his food category during Chef Nibble Time.

The Tip Chef Awards and Top Chef Award are really based on who raises the most money for the beneficiary through “tips” collected, or any other fundraising efforts the chefs can dream up. Did I mention bragging rights?

For the $65 per person or $550 for a table of 10, guests at 100 Men Who Cook will be treated to a cash bar, a chance to bid on and possibly win a variety of live auction and raffle items, and all the usual offerings of a non-profit fundraiser in a much more relaxed, carefree atmosphere. At this event they will also have 100 different food options for their tasting pleasure, all while enjoying one of the most extraordinary social events of the year!

About Community Champions Fund

Is the accumulation of monies raised from our events. Through quarterly grants to not-for-profits, civic, business, and government organizations, Community Champions Fund provides financial support to organizations in East Central Indiana for programming, services, and activities that support the prevention of violence as well as the protection and care of victims of violence. It is through these efforts those in need benefit from innovative solutions, otherwise unavailable in our community, designed to make our community a safer place to live, work, and play.

Since our first event in 2010, over $730,000 (net) has been raised to provide funds to various organizations to address the needs of the most vulnerable in our community.

The Mission
The Community Champions Fund mission is to improve the lives of the most vulnerable citizens of our community. In our core cause area of supporting the prevention of violence as well as the protection and care of victims of violence, we aim to accelerate progress, accountability, and discovery, while also reducing the social stigma that sometimes keeps these issues in the shadows. We will take a people-centric approach on all projects to break traditional barriers and build a better future for all high-risk people, because we know that the greater the support, the more empowered people feel to take control of their present and future. We will support those efforts that most contribute to the reduction of violence and all those circumstances that promote to it. We will use our best judgement in the support of programs and initiatives using four key strategies:

  1. Funding the most promising work;
  2. Convening grantees, partners and other thought leaders to collaborate and share best practices for improved outcomes;
  3. Initiating new directions and innovative projects to accelerate progress
  4. Educating the general public and key audiences to drive and change behavior to fulfill this vision.

Funding Priorities: Prevention of violence, Food insecurities, Education, Community Development.
